Joreatha J. Cabbell

Joreatha Juanita Cabbell daughter of the late Wilbert & Lela Alexander was Born in Mecklenburg County, Derita NC February 27, 1939. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior August 22, 2024.  Raised by her Aunt Frances Grier & Graham Grier.  She graduated from Torrence-Lytle High School in Huntersville NC, in 1957.  Joreatha Cabbell left for Plainfield NJ and stayed with Obiee and Ida Maye Harris and their 4 children while working as Dietitian Aid at Muhlenberg Hospital in the year of 1957.  Living with the Harris family in the Cold-Water Flats she met a young man named Harold Cabbell. They married and had two children Zina Cabbell (Darryl Broome) & Troi Cabbell (both of Charlotte NC). Joreatha worked at Allstate Insurance Company as a claims adjuster and started Modeling with the help of her husband Harold Cabbell and a man that was known only as Sam with connections in the industry in 1968.  She eventually stopped modeling but continued her long career at Allstate working her way up to management, for over 25 years until retirement.

Her siblings, that have gone on to glory are Carlette Alexander, Frank Alexander, Calvin Alexander, Nathaniel Alexander, Dorothy Alexander, Collie Alexander, Ida McCauley, and Sylvester Alexander.

Joreatha leaves her beloved family: Two sisters, Barbra Carr (Orlando Jr.), and Wanda Duncan (Bobby), both of Charlotte NC. Three brothers, Wilbert Alexander, Wadell Alexander (Silvia - Best Friend), and Gary Alexander (Nicole), all of Charlotte NC and many family members and friends in North Carolina and New Jersey.

Treasured like a daughter, niece Devian Kee, like a son, nephew Orlando Carr III, and Eric Shaw with his daughters, like grandchildren Melany and Zurie from Charlotte NC.   Precious cousins Norwood Harris (Smyrna DE), Camellia Harris (Charlotte NC), and Paula Pharr (Concord, NC). Most adored friends Sylvia Smith, lifelong best friend (Plainfield NJ), friend Patricia Fields (Plainfield NJ), and friend Peggy Mitchell (Raleigh NC), raised their children together, played together and had their BidWiz Card Club.
