Kathie Marie Carlos Baucom

Kathie Marie Carlos Baucom departed this life on May 9, 2014 at CMC Main Hospital, Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Kathie Baucom, the daughter of Leslie and Elizabeth Carlos was born January 19, 1954. She graduated with a BA Degree from Winthrop University in 1975. Kathie taught in the Charlotte Mecklenburg & Union County School Systems from 1976 to January 2014. She was selected as Teacher Assistant of the year, 2010-2011. Kathie was united in marriage on May 11, 1974 to Gerald J. Baucom of Monroe, NC. She became a member of Faith Christian Methodist Episcopal Church where many wonderful relationships were formed. After leaving Faith, she became a member of Nations Ford Rd. Baptist Church. In 2002 Kathie and her family joined Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where she was a signer for the deaf during services. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roderick Carlos and William Brevard. Kathie is survived by her husband: Gerald J. Baucom, three children: Kimberly Melissa Baucom, Carlos Brevard Dobbin Baucom, and Peter Oswald Baucom, II all of Charlotte, NC, one sister, Ms. Alma Wiggins of Wheaton, MD, and eight nephews. Visitation will be at 11am, the funeral will be at 12pm on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Ch.-7237 Tuckaseegee Rd., Charlotte, NC.
