Kayla Harvey

December 19, 1993 — March 20, 2022

“Gone Too Soon Baby Girl”

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are
passed away.” —Revelation 21:4 (KJV).
Miss Kayla Breyona Harvey, born December 19, 1993, bowed to God’s will and entered into
eternal rest on Monday, March 21, 2022. She was the only child from the union of Preston
Wright and Keicy Harvey (deceased).
Our Family knows very well the hurt, the pain and the many days of sorrow that death brings.
So, we move past what the eyes need to see and what the ears need to hear and that touch of
a hug. We move into the realm of knowing that Our Father’s words are true, and are able to
sustain us. God Has Got This! The joy of the Lord is our strength. He alone is the author and the
finisher of Life. We were honored and humbly grateful to have had Kayla in our lives. She was
one of a kind with her spicy flair, her quick wit, and mostly her self-determination. If you truly
knew her, she was full of flavorful drama. She was a dedicated friend; had a profound love for
her family and knew God and his word. She was a champion of the disadvantaged. She even
had a tattoo on her “Every Saint has a past, and every Sinner has a future.” So, we say we are
not saints unless you think of a saint as a sinner who keeps trying.
Kayla’s mother’s death left a tremendous void in her life. Her Godparents, Thelma and G
Richardson, were always a pillar of strength and present throughout Kayla’s life and especially
during her mother’s illness. Her Uncle, Commander, United States Navy, Anthony Earl Ellis and
his wife Cher Ellis, stepped up and became her loving guardians. Kayla had the opportunity to
live and travel the world during her uncle’s Naval Career. She left Charlotte at a young age for
Norway then Italy and back to the United States where she settled in Virginia. Right at her
preteen years, Kayla moved with her Aunt Vern to New Jersey. Upon their move back to North
Carolina, her grandmother Rosa McNeil (deceased), Aunt Mary Carolyn Joyner (deceased),
Uncle Roscoe Harvey, many cousins and extended family, helped guide her through her teenage
years.
Kayla is survived by her father Preston Wright and family, Commander Anthony Earl Ellis (Cher)
and family, Thelma Richardson, Maurice (Reese) Richardson, Uncle Raymond Williams, Uncle
Roscoe Harvey, Aunt Olive Harvey, Aunt Kenya Arledge and Lorraine Ford. Loving cousins:
Roscoe Earl Junior and family, Quantae Harvey and family, Roderick Vines, Darius and Darren
Ford, Ticara Harris (Jasmine) , Sharon Halley and family. Special Sister friends: Niece Gordon,
Alice Gordon, Moydis Bethea, Kanani Rogers, and a host of other relatives and friends.
