Life Reflections

Mrs. Krista Kirby Jeter, 71 , daughter of the late Clyde and Bertha Kirby, was born on December 30, 1952, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina.  She departed this life the morning of October 4, 2024, after a decline in health at Atrium Health-Pineville in Charlotte, NC, surrounded and supported by her loving family.

Krista was raised in a loving home, with her parents and siblings, brother Charles Kirby, who preceded her in death and her sisters Annie Kirby Bolden, Zerelda Kirby Black and  Iris Kirby.  The family were members of and attended Gatewood Station A.M.E. Zion Church, in Morven, North Carolina. Later in life the family joined East Stonewall A.M.E. Zion Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Krista attended Charlotte Mecklenburg County Public Schools; and graduated from West Charlotte High School. She enjoyed playing softball and cards, Tunk especially with her sisters but also had an avid love for bowling and travelling.  She worked for Label Service Inc, in Charlotte, NC for over 20 years and later for Dupont Mobility Transportation.

Krista met and fell in love with James Jeter and with their wedding union on July 16, 1999, a beautiful, blended family of 10 children was formed.  Krista and James made their home in Rock Hill, South Carolina.  As the years passed, a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a delightful addition.  Krista had an unwavering commitment and devotion to her family that will leave everlasting memories for generations to come.

Krista is survived by her loving husband, children, sisters, brother-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many cherished friends and colleagues.
