Larry Gene Harris, 35, born July 7, 1986, at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, District of Columbia passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022.
Larry completed his primary education at the Montgomery County Public Schools in Montgomery County, Maryland. Larry attended Hagerstown Community College in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Larry was a Calvary Scout in the Combat Arms branch of the United States Army, 1 st & 2 nd Calvary Regiment units stationed in Germany.
Before relocating to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2015, Larry was a trade Stonemason.
The Church of Christ(Pastor Joseph Trammel) in Boyds, Maryland was Larry’s home church as a youth. Larry then attended Greater Campher Temple(Presiding Elder, Pastor Darwin Mency) in Hagerstown, Maryland. Upon settling in Charlotte, Larry became a member of The True Light Gospel Church of Christ(Pastor Willie McCluney). Larry believed in Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Larry walked in Love and Faith always, “ IN THE NAME OF JESUS ”.
There were some many facets of Larry. He was Skater Boy who would always say, “ See Ya Later Boy ”, an Artist in everything he got “INTO”. Larry had an infectious smiled that would warm our hearts. He Loved his family both biological and the ones he adopted sharing his life and being surrounded with his loved ones and friends. Larry loved music, the Washington Redskins, and Loved, Loved, Loved FOOD .
Larry was loving son, brother and a Protector of all he loved.
Larry was preceded in death by his father Larry G. Parker, Sister Jovyda B. Draughon, Maternal Grandparents Oliver and Alyce B. Harris, and Paternal Grandparents Thurman and Shirley Mae Parker.
Larry is survived by his Loving Mother Ellena Smith, Stepfather Philip Smith (Amy), Devoted sister Iyana Smith and brother Phillip Smith Jr., sisters Latoya Parker, Latricia Parker, Larnita Parker-Faison, brother Larry Parker, Godparents Monique Johnson and Lenny Washington, God-Sister Andrea Turner, and from birth his Confidant and Childhood Partner in Crime, Lauren Grant, Godchildren Hunter R. King and Hudson J. England, and all his adopted children from the Kadey Drive Neighborhood. Also, great host of aunts and uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces, and friends.
