Lawrence O. Cabbs, Jr. received his wings on Saturday, October 27, 2018 after a long illness at Carolina Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. Lawrence was the eldest son of three children from the union of Lawrence Cabbs, Sr, (Who proceeded him in death, 1998) and Shirley Harris Cabbs. Lawrence graduated from University City High School, St. Louis, MO in 1979. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting with a minor in Mathematics and Finance from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, NC. He pursued and received a Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA) with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix, Charlotte, NC. Lawrence also received an Associate of Science Degree in Health Information Technology from ECPI University, Charlotte NC. Lawrence began his professional career as an Internal Auditor at Cocoa Cola, Inc. He went on to pursue a career with Phillip Morris, USA Corporation as a Production team member for 13 years. Having an entrepreneur spirit, he later established a successful consultant business that focused on Healthcare Information Technology. Lawrence was united in Holy Matrimony to Bernitta Mitchell in 1993. From that union they have three sons, Aaron Michael, Austin Christopher and Alexander Julius. Lawrence was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC for many years. He later became a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church where he remained until his death. Lawrence was kindhearted, loving, giving, supporting and full of life. He enjoyed life, his family and his friends. No one remained a stranger once he met them. His son Aaron, called him a “KING”. Lawrence is survived by and leaves to cherish him, three Sons-Aaron Cabbs, Austin Cabbs and Alexander Cabbs; His Mother-Shirley Cabbs, his Brother-Jeffrey (Connie) Cabbs, his Sister-Nicole Cabbs Fondren, his Nephews-Blake Fondren and Anthony Spearman, Jr, his Niece-Aliyah Cabbs, his 3 God children; (through marriage)- nieces, nephews, sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, many uncles, aunts, cousins, and an abundance of friends.
