Mrs. Linda N. Hancock, daughter of the late Eddie Lewing and Isabelle Roberts, was born on Wednesday, January 24, 1945 in Many. LA. She departed this life on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 and went home to be with God, her chosen maker and creator. She graduated from Sabine High School (Sabine LA) in 1963. She received associates credit from Metropolitan Community College (Los Angeles CA). She worked for Cedars Sinai Hospital (CA) before relocating to the Midwest, where she lived for over 25 years. She was employed at Stix, Baer, and Fuller, which eventually became Dillards for 8 years. The majority of the her employment experience was with Children’s Mercy Hospital. She served a variety of roles, but most notably retired in 2003 after several years as an EEG technician. Her most recent employment was for Belk (Charlotte NC). In review of Linda’s professional endeavors, it was noteworthy that she was in professions in which interacting with the public and serving others was paramount. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Lewing and Isabelle Roberts. She is survived by her son, Russell C. Hancock (Charlotte NC), her grand dogs, Buddy and Griffin (Charlotte NC), her sister, Ethel O’Dell (Houston TX), her brothers, Joe (Houston TX), Freddie (Denton TX), Jerry Wayne (Robeline LA), and Jewell McNeal (CA). She also leaves behind a plethora of friends and trusted confidants from her time at Children’s Mercy and Belk.
