Celebration of life of
Louise K. Freeman McDowell February 23, 1927- January 26, 2023 Louise  was born February 23, 1927 in Cleveland County North Carolina to the late John and Rosena Kilgore.  Louise was known as “Check” to her 11 siblings and family and known for putting a person in “check”.  She graduated from Camp Hill High School in Shelby, NC.   Louise was a wonderful mother and grandmother (granny) to so many whom she loved dearly.  She loved cooking, baking especially “Her famous Lemon Pound Cake” and spending time with family. She is known for her traveling to different places in the USA as well as going to the casinos, playing bingo and doing her puzzle books. She was a dedicated member of Galilee Baptist Church until her health declined. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her daughter Sandra K. Grimes, one son Nelson Freeman, two granddaughters Shavonda Denise Grimes and Lakeyser Freeman, one grandson Bruce Freeman, and Four Brothers and 7 sisters as well as her Goddaughter Cassandra Wallace Garrett.

She leaves to cherish her memory a host of loving children and family. Children: Steven Freeman(Leola), Johnny Freeman (Vickie), Pamela Freeman, Michael Freeman Teresa Wallace, Leslie and Barry Teague, Brad Teague(Loren), Elizabeth Allen(Clark), Wilson and Chris Glasgow, Jack Glasgow, Will Glasgow (Elizabeth), Monica Grier. Grandchildren: Ralonda Freeman, Aretha Freeman, Dionne Freeman Lewis, Keith and Steven Grimes, Michelle Freeman Kirk(Ramon), Demetrius Fielder(Christina), Johnny Freeman II, Hassan Giles (Sheree). Great Grandchildren: Messiah, Khadijah, Sumayyah, Keith Jr, Keith III, Frances, Chanelle, Jamarcus, Brian, Steve Jr, Malik, Shamrika, Ashanti, Christopher, Jalean, Alysia, Michael and 18 great great grandchildren.
