Lovella Aery

Lovella Harrison Aery of Charlotte, North Carolina, transitioned to be with the Lord on January 13, 2026, at Crown Haven in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Lovella was born to the late Alex Harrison II and Ora Lee Belton Harrison on January 5, 1946 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Lovella graduated from Torrence-Lyle High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Johnson C. Smith University. She was employed by EDS and later Dreams and Visions.

Lovella was humble, kind, gentle, and fun-loving to everyone she met. She was always willing to help her fellow man. She was a gentlewoman and a diligent servant to God. From an early age, her favorite hobby was being a skilled seamstress. Through the years, she helped many learn to sew everything from clothes to curtains.

Lovella was preceded in death by her father and mother Alex Harrison II and Ora Lee Belton Harrison, her grandparents, Sawney Belton and Emma Law Belton, Alex Harrison Sr. and Mary Bagley Harrison, four sisters, Juantia Ponell Harrison, Georgia Marie Harrison Works, Nancy Ann Gloria Jean Harrison Hyman, Lola Deloris Harrison Anthony, and one brother, Alex Harrison III, and a grandson, Drayton Thompson, Jr.

Lovella leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Reginald Thompson and Drayton Thompson, Sr., both of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Tarique Thompson, Alyssa Thompson, Ayanna Thompson, Malik Thompson, Drayshon Thompson, Ashley Trapp, Gilford Hurt, Briannah Trapp, Ashton Trapp and Chase Rheams; two sisters, Geneva Leazer (Johnnie) of Cornelius, NC, Emma Little of Charlotte, NC; one brother, David Harrison of Charlotte, NC; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
