Madeline L. Bright

May 21, 1948 — July 28, 2021

Madeline Strayhorn Bright, 73 of 1516 Chilford Court, Charlotte transitioned July 28, 2021 at Atrium Northeast Medical Center, Concord, NC. She was the daughter of the late Randolph and Bernice Strayhorn. Madeline was originally from Murfreesboro, NC where she graduated from C.S. Brown High School in Winton, NC. After graduation she matriculated at Fayetteville State College (University) Fayetteville, NC.

Madeline took her skills to the City of New York and worked as a Human Services Supervisor. She retired and relocated to Charlotte after 40 years of employment to be closer to family.

She had a passion for traveling to Atlantic City and Las Vegas regularly and bragging about the "fruits" of her visits. She also enjoyed spending time with friends at the Senior Center in Brooklyn, NY while making crafts and improving her computer skills. Those computer skills helped her maneuver through QVC and HSN websites with ease. We all benefited from her shopping with unexpected gifts.

Madeline will be missed and is survived by her only child, Keith Bright (Michele), two sisters, Kay Cunningham and Cynthia Keene both of Charlotte, two nieces, Courtney Keene and Mia Cunningham, two grandsons Michael and William (deceased), four great-grands and one very very special grand-nephew, Ayden Keene, special friends, Margaret Keyes Gaines, Gloria Bowden and Paul Buie with many other family members and friends.

Services for her will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021, 11:00 am at Alexander Funeral Home, 1424 Statesville Ave. Charlotte, NC.
