Marcus Jamal Carter, 49, passed away tragically and unexpectedly on

February 16, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born on November 15,

1976, in Paterson, New Jersey, Marcus lived a life filled with passion,

dedication, and love for his family and friends.

Professionally, Marcus built a career in hospitality before transitioning to

work as a truck driver for Waste Connections. He was known for his

reliability and strong work ethic. His colleagues and those who crossed

paths with him appreciated his calm demeanor and friendly nature.

Beyond his career, Marcus found joy in life’s simple pleasures and his

many passions. He enjoyed playing video games, golfing, cars, listening

to music, savoring good food and craft beer, and taking vacations. His

love for these activities reflected his easy going spirit and appreciation

for the simple joys of life.

Those who knew Marcus often described him as "cool, calm, and

collected." He never met a stranger and had no enemies, becoming a

testament to his warm personality and ability to connect with people

from all aspects of life. Marcus was not only a great friend but also

someone who left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Carter; his children, Alexus Carter

and Chance Carter; his father, Harold Earl; his aunts Charmaine Carter

and Patrice Lewis (Michael); first cousins Michael Lewis (Olivia), Melissa

Lewis; and a host of other in-laws, cousins and family who loved him.

Marcus was predeceased by his mother, Leanna Carter; grandmother

and grandfather Leanna and Edward Carter; and first cousin Mark Lewis.

May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing. His

presence will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by all whose

lives he touched.
