Obituary Mary Lee Brewer Little, was born March 24, 1920 in Peachland, North Carolina. Our Lord and Savior graced this earth with her presence to love and nurture us for over 100 years. On Thursday July 16, 2020, He graciously retrieved her back into His loving arms. Mary Lee, affectionately known as “Mae” was the youngest of eleven, born to the late James Herbert Brewer and Lucy Ann Curlee. While attending Polkton public schools, she met the love of her life, Willie Brown Little,” Bill”. They were united in holy matrimony on December 25, 1938 and afterwards made Charlotte their home. Thirteen years later, their only child, a daughter, Gerald Jeanette Little was born. Although Gerald J. was considered their pride and joy, their dedication to each other was second to none. Five months shy of their 60th Wedding Anniversary, the Lord called “Bill” home. During his health challenges of their latter years, she faithfully remained by his side as a nurturer, caretaker, wife and best friend. Mae, a certified licensed cosmetologist, was a long time employee at Myers Park Beauty Salon. There she served in the capacity of Office manager. She also worked for Treasurers Unlimited until entering into retirement. Remaining true to her spiritual roots, she chose to serve at both Greater Mt. Moriah and Friendship Primitive Baptist Churches before casting her lots at Tabernacle Baptist. There she served as a Missionary and Deaconess until her health declined. Mae was a long time Lincoln Heights community resident who enjoyed neighborhood gatherings and gardening. She was a travel extraordinaire whose hobbies included: reading, sewing, crocheting, upholstering, canning, baking and/or cooking for family and friends. Her magnetic personality, her touch of class and her level of wisdom are only a few of her many qualities. Her love for God and family was always from the heart.Preceding her in transition are her husband, parents, nine brothers; John H, George L, Jo Van,Daniel B, James E, Peter W, Acie B, Ned L, Jeremiah and one sister Etta B Vance. Left to reflect memories are: her daughter Gerald Jeanette, a host of nieces and nephews, great to fifth generational nieces and nephews, cousins, God children and numerous friends.
