Mary Elizabeth Mcbride

Mary Elizabeth Baker McBride, also affectionately known as "Sister", was born on September 2, 1938 in Chesterfield, County SC to Charles Mac Baker and Josephine Robinson Baker. She departed this life November 11, 2020 at Atrium Medical Center. Mary attended and graduated Salutatorian from Pine Forest High School in McBee, SC in 1956. Mary was an exceptional student and was admired and respected by her peers. Mary gave her life to Christ at a young age and was baptized at Mt. Elon Methodist Church. Upon moving to Charlotte NC, she joined St. Luke Baptist Church and attended for many years. Mary retired from Krispy Kreme after more than 20 years of service. On March 2, 1958, Mary married Frank McBride Jr .They were married 62 years before her death. God blessed this union with three children, Arthur, Frank III , and Mary. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her brother; Charles Baker, sisters; Lily Gaston and Eva Wyatt. Mary leaves to cherish her memory her husband Frank McBride, Jr, her sons; Arthur McBride, Frank McBride lll and daughter Mary Cochrane ( Lawrence). Mary also leaves five grandchildren: Frank Eugene McBride, Latisha McBride, Omar Cochrane, Shantina Cochrane (Chad) and Aaron McBride. She also leaves two great grandchildren Preasia McBride and Chazmin Smith. Cherished memories are also shared by her remaining siblings William Baker (Katie), Betty Baker, Alice Howard( John) and Johnny Baker( Delores) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special thanks to her neighbors Joseph and Sandra Land, Larry Brown, Dicie Pharr, and Frances Alexander for your years of friendship and companionship were invaluable.
