Mary Lee McCallum Belin was born May 14, 1945 to the late Henry Lee and Dorothy McCallum in Rowland, NC. She departed this life peacefully at her home in Charlotte, NC on May 31, 2020.

Mary Lee was educated in the Public Schools of Robeson County and graduated from Southside High School in 1963.

Mary Lee relocated to Charlotte, NC in 1975. After moving, Mary Lee worked for the City of Charlotte and later transitioned into an administrative role in healthcare. Mary held many positions throughout the years, with her last occupation as a transporter for CMS. Mary joined Myers Tabernacle AME Zion Church in the early 2000’s where she occasionally filled in as a pianist.

In 1983, Mary was joined in holy matrimony with John Belin.

Mary was preceded in death by her son, Martimus McCallum, a sister, Dorothy Ann Brown and step-mother, Flora McCallum.

She leaves to cherish her most fond memories, three sons, Gregory McCallum, Keith McCallum, and John McCallum (LaToya), one daughter, LaTosha McCallum (Antwan), all of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Laura Foster of Charlotte, NC, two brothers, Henry McCallum, Jr. (Carolyn) and Michael McCallum, both of Glenarden, MD, 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
