Mary P. Steele

Mary Catherine Steele was called home December 25 ^th at her second home with her daughter JaTonya and grandson Keith by her side. Mary was born in Charlotte, NC on July 2 ^nd , 1949. She was youngest of three children of the late Eva Pharr. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her brother Bobby Pharr and her sister Janet Pharr.

Mary spent her early childhood in Philadelphia and as teen she returned to Charlotte NC. Mary attended York Rd High School during which time she met high school sweetheart and soon married, Reginald Steele. From that union they were blessed with five children. Mary was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, always watching over her children, as well as their friends. There was always room at her table for Sunday dinner. Mary was a caregiver whose generosity knew no bounds. She enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family. Mary managed Mr. T’s Convenience Store for many years. She was also employed with PCA International and retired from Cintas in 2018. Mary was a member of St Paul Baptist Church for many years.

Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory her five children Adrian Steele, Levard Steele, JaTonya Steele, Sean Steele, and Rolondo Steele (Deborah). Thirteen grandchildren Jacqis, Ariel, Basheer, Levard Jr, Asha, Diamond, Seannasie, Jarron, Jordan, Rolando II, Reyvon, De’ja’, and Keith, who was her constant companion until her final breath. And three great-grandchildren.
