Mr. Matthew Stonewall Johnson SR of 7589 Old Plank Rd Stanley, NC was born on July 4, 1935.
He transitioned this earthly life on January 5, 2024 at Mercy Hospital, Charlotte NC.

Matthew was a faithful employee of Weyerhaeuser Container Boards and Paper for 28 years.

Matthew was a faithful servant and member of Rockhill United Methodist Church.

He served faithful in following positions: Lay Speaker, President of the United Methodist Men,
Adult Sunday School Teacher, Bible school Teacher, Treasurer in Graveyard Committee,
President of Friendly Aide of Lowesville, Member of the Vocal Choir and Member of the Rockhill
Governance Board.

He also served as Chaplin of Mason Unique # 85 FMA as well, a member of the Eastern Star,
Matthew was in brotherhood for 48 years.

Preceded in death by Wife, 3 sons Matthew Jr, Reginald and Jacob Johnson, Two brothers
Andrew and Richard Johnson.

Those left to cherish his memories are Two brothers, Sinclair (Diane) Johnson, Willie Johnson.
Four sister Ossie, Geraline, Betty (Alford), and Annie. Two daughters Renee and Renette. Three
grandchildren, One Great grandchild and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Friends
