Mr. James Edward Sullivan also acknowledged as “Mug” was born October 10, 1948 to the late James E. Sullivan, Sr. and the late Mildred Sullivan James.
He attended York Elementary School and graduated from Torrance Lyle High School in 1966 as well as, later enlisting in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1967. He served his country until 1973. He also received three gold medals. Mr. Sullivan received the National Defense service medal, Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Stars. Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device Authorize. He went on and graduated from Tidewater Community College with an Associated Degree in Business.
He entered into the work force with many options, and chose to go to work for Duke Power at that time. He went to work in the trucking industry for over 30 years with various companies. After retiring, He went back to work with the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system and then retire in May 2022.
Leaving to cherish his memories is his wife of twenty-eight years Callie, sons, Vincent R. Sullivan of Raleigh, NC, Donyell Sullivan of Charlotte, NC, Kendall (Camille) Campbell of Charlotte, NC, Djuana (Reni) Eddie Rawlinson of Charlotte, NC, Shay Dupree of Charlotte, NC, Deshawn Dupree of Charlotte, NC, he has 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. His aunt Dorlee Parks of Charlotte NC, a host of other relatives and friends.
