Ann Jones was born January 22, 1948 to the late Monroe and Mary Margaret Anderson in Paw Creek,
NC. She peacefully departed this life on June 4, 2023.
She was graduate of West Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Ann started her work life at Burlington Industries. She then moved to enjoy a long career in providing office supplies at Pound & Moore, Kale Office Outfitters and Sunbelt Office Supplies, from which she retired.
Ann was a dedicated member of Disciples for Christ Outreach Ministries, where she was a faithful
Sunday School attendee. Ann loved to praise the Lord, she could often be heard saying, “God is so good, He’s brought me from a mighty long way”.
Ann was part of the “Posse”, she was affectionately known as Posse #4 because she was the baby of the group. She was an excellent cook and baker. Some of her specialties included Ms. Lucy Pound Cake, Macaroni and Cheese, and dry rub ribs. Ann enjoyed cooking, traveling, jigsaw puzzles, Phase 10 and PBS television. She was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan.
Ann was married to her beloved husband Bobby Jones for 51 years, they were together for 53 years. They met at Hoover’s Restaurant on Statesville Ave in 1969. They were soulmates and true best friends.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, one (1) sister; Bessie Anderson, two (2) brothers; Monroe
Anderson Jr. and James Anderson.
She leaves to cherish her memory; her beloved husband; Bobby Jones and special niece; Weona Sharpe of the home; (1) brother Milton Anderson (Helen) of Charlotte, North Carolina; (2) sisters; Martha Grier (Posse #1); Linda McClure (Posse #2) and sister/cousin Ernestine Johnson (Posse #3) all of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Sixteen (16) nieces and nephews; Twenty eight (28) great nieces and nephews, Thirty seven (37) great, great nieces and nephews and four (4) great, great, great nieces and nephews. A host of family, church members and friends.
