IN CELEBRATION OF A LIFE OF SERVICE

Jacqueline Broome-Simpson. was born August 13,1953 in Charlotte, NC to the late John Henry Broome Sr. and the late Beatrice Webster Broome.  She departed this life on Monday, May 22, 2023, in Atlanta GA.  She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Calvin Gladden and Mr. John Henry Broome Jr.

Jacqueline spent her early years in Mecklenburg County and attended elementary and secondary schools in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System and she was also a graduate of Kings Business College, in Charlotte NC.  Jacqueline was a very active and devoted student of West Charlotte and West Mecklenburg High Schools, in Charlotte, NC., where She formed many lifelong friendships.

Jacqueline worked at AT&T (Formerly Bell South) her entire career, and moved to the Atlanta GA area. Jacqueline ’s 29-year career with AT&T included various positions within the office management departments. Her move to the Atlanta area with AT&T is where she met and wed Zack Simpson.  They resided in Atlanta Georgia.

Jacqueline was an outspoken Lady and a tower of confident strength who was well respected by nearly everyone who knew her.  Her smile and sense of humor reflected her warm inner qualities.

Jacqueline was a very active and devoted member of the Broome Family Association, and always looked forward to our annual holiday events and family gatherings.  There was a close and loving relationship between “Jack” and her cousins, they were like sisters and brothers to each other.

Jacqueline leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband Zack Simpson of the home; Godson Craig Howard (Hysonna) of Charlotte NC,  four stepsons; Ronald Simpson, Zack Simpson Jr. (Debra), Jerrold Simpson and Bernard Simpson, one special cousin; Louis Simpson all of Atlanta GA; one brother, James Gladden, of Forestville MD; two aunts, Mercier Leeper of Charlotte NC, and Jane Webster of Ashville NC, one niece Kimberly Bobbitt of Indian Land SC, the members of The Broome Family Association, and a host of relatives and friends.
