Mrs. Janie Norman Hill

Janie Norman Hill ,

transition to her Heavenly home March 30, 2023 at Peak Resources Nursing Home, Charlotte,North Carolina after a long life of 96 years old.

Born in Lincolnton, Georgia, May 9, 1926 to the late Nathan Norman and Laura Blackwell Norman. The youngest of eleven children.

Janie met Willie Hill in Lincolnton GA, and in 1947 they started a family. Shortly after they moved to Charlotte,

North Carolina in which the family grew to six children.

Janie was fairly quiet until she got to know you, then the jokes and laughter came out. She worked as a domestic worker in the hotel industry for many years. In her later years she became known as Granny to so many people who love her and adored her.(family and non-family alike) Janie joined Second Calvary Baptist Church 1996 and attended regularly until her health began to decline.

Janie was preceded in death by father, Nathan Norman, mother, Laura Blackwell Norman,all ten siblings, husband, Willie Hill ,two sons Vaden Hill and Tony Hill .

Janie is survived by four children: daughter, Diana Hill , sons, John (Corrine) Hill , Robert (Mary) Hill , Melvin Hill ,  daughter-in-law Allie Hill ,13 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
