Ms. Betty J. Geter

Ms. Betty Jean Geter 79, of Charlotte, North Carolina, was born to the Late Frances
Geter on October 23, 1943, in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Betty graduated from Carver High School in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She grew
up in Spartanburg and later moved to Charlotte, North Carolina.
Although Betty held several jobs in her lifetime, she worked for many years at
Lundy's Recognition and later retired from Express Teller. She also worked for many
years employed at her brother Milton's company, CDL.
Betty had a heart of gold and she spoke her mind by any means necessary. She loved
her family. She was a natural care-giver and cared for several of her family members
up until their eternal departure.
Betty was called home on Thursday April 13, 2023. She was preceded in death by her
parents, four brothers: Freddy Geter, Charles Geter, Jimmy Geter, and Milton Geter,
and a sister-in-law Virginia Geter.
Betty was a loving mother, devoted sister, caring aunt and a friend of many. She
leaves behind to carry on her legacy two daughters: Frances "Pooh" Geter of the
home, and Nesbuia "Shebbie" McManus of Middlesex, NC. Two sisters: Bessie
Geter-Slater and Shirley Hossian of Charlotte, NC, two sisters-in-law: Peggy Geter of
Hickory NC, Alvine Geter of Charlotte NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,
friends and neighbors.

When I come to the end of the road don't cry for a soul set free.

Miss me but let me go for this is a journey we all must take and think of me as living
in your heart. I know how much you love me just as mush as I love you. I think of all
the good times and the love and fun we had. My pain and grief is over and I am now
