Nanella Warren

Nanella Annette Jones Warren, a resident of Charlotte, NC, died Friday, December 4, 2020, at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center. Born in 1932 in Atlanta, GA, Nanella received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Spelman College. She continued her education at New York University, from which she received her Master's Degree in Library Sciences in 1965. Nanella was a Children's Librarian and Head Librarian for the Clarendon Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library System, where she worked until her retirement. Nan, as she was affectionately called, loved good food, socializing, and attending performances of theatre, classical music, jazz, and movies. She and her beloved husband, Richard A. Warren, were blessed with over 50 years of married bliss. She is survived by her nephews, Robert Jerome Jones and Jarvis Reynard Jones (Wendy), both of Atlanta, GA; sisters-in-law Alvine Geter (caregiver, Milton) of Charlotte, NC, and Malvine Slaton of Virginia Beach, Jennie Jones of Atlanta GA, VA; brother-in-law Dr. Alton Haynes (Mariylan) of Washington, DC; along with a host of cousins, great-nephews, and great-nieces, several of whom live in Atlanta, GA. A Memorial Tribute and Celebration of her life will be held December 23, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA.
