Nannie Lee Johnson

Ms. Nannie Lee Johnson was born on December 22, 1934 to the late Mary
Lee Austin Beasley. Ms. Johnson was a Charlotte native and resided in
Earle Village/ First Ward until moving to Autumn Place.

Ms. Johnson always enjoyed having family and friends around her so if you
were in need of a place to stay or needed help with anything you could
always count on her to fill the need. Our home was never empty of joy and
laughter.

Later in life Ms. Johnson devoted her life to Christ and joined the Central
Apostolic Faith Mission Church in Charlotte. It was the light of her day with
never ending stories of what she learned in bible class or about her new
church family. The other light in her life was her granddaughter “Shantelle”
whom she loved dearly. Shantelle’s devotion of duty to her grandmother
never wavered thru the good or hard times. The bond between the two
was unbreakable.

Ms. Johnson is preceded in death by her sisters: Henrietta Darby, Bertha
King, Margaret Eason, Mary McDowell, one brother; Fred Nixon Jr;
daughter: Vernelle Belin; sons; Nelson Johnson, William James Johnson
Jr. and Reginal Lewis Johnson.

Left to cherish her fond memories are: Kay Elizabeth Johnson, Deborah
“Princess” Johnson-Kasongo (Augustin), Six grandchildren; Towanda
“Shantelle” Johnson, Vashon Belin, Vernice Funches (John), Johnny
Beland and Stephanie Belin of Charlotte, Ten great-great grandchildren all
of Charlotte and a host of nieces, nephews’ other relatives and friends.
