The Life of Our Angel On Sunday June 9th 2017 our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and best friend earned her wings and soared into heaven. Nellie Jones Richardson was born on January 26, 1941 in Newberry SC to the late Carrie Bell and Mitchell Jones. Nellie attended school under the Charlotte Mecklenburg County School System and graduated from West Charlotte High School in 1959 and she attended Johnson C. Smith University for two years. During her beautiful life she found her first and only love and married him. Arthur Alphonso Richardson. The two were married for 48 years until his passing in October 2012. Nellie worked for Ivey’s for many years and retired. After her retirement she really began to live. She traveled with her loving husband to many places like: Germany, Washington State, California just to name a few places. Also in her past time she loved to go with the Senior Ministry as well as making her famous jewelry that every female in her family has had the pleasure of wearing! She was an original member of the First Mt. Zion Missionary Gospel Choir and was a member for 60 years. She also made the best pound cake in the world! She loved for you to ask her to make one so she could tell you no with a smile, but have one sitting on her counter cooling for you in the same breathe. She leaves behind to remember her smile, her 2 sons Darryl Leon Richardson Sr. (Geraline), Anthony Eugene Richardson Sr. (Tracey), 4 grandchildren Jasmine Wells (Joshua), Darryl Richardson II (Makaya), Danielle , Anthony, 2 great-grandchildren Jada and King, 1 brother Mitchell Jones (Yvonne), 1 sister Joe Ann Jones, 1 aunt Rebecca Robinson and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Special friends in her life that made her laugh on a daily basis: Gennie Odom a sister rather than a sister in law, Yvonne Jones, and a Loving neighbor Catherine Turrentine.
