Paralee Sharpe Walker gained her wings on March 28, 2025, at The Landings of Cabarrus at age 90. She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on November 27, 1934, to the late Willie and Lucille Douglas Sharpe. Paralee was educated in the Charlotte Mecklenburg school system. She was employed with Carolina Medical Center (Atrium) where she was blessed with many accolades during her 31years of service. Paralee loved the Lord and accepted Christ at an early age. She was a long and faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC where she ushered and was a member of the choir. Paralee could sing and would sing. You could witness the anointing in her voice as she praised God through song. She later united with Ebenezer Baptist Church Charlotte, North Carolina under the leadership of Dr. Leonzo Lynch. There she continued to faithfully serve the Lord in the music ministry and was a part of the Sunday School ministry until her health declined. Paralee was the past Commandress of Rameses Court #78. She was also a proud member of three districts Amaranth Chapter # 663 OES, PHA Rameses court # 78 D.O.I., Zach Alexander Assembly# 35 Order of the Golden Circle PHA. In 1949, Paralee fell in love with Beaufort Walker Jr., and they were married for 32 years until he departed this earth. From this union of marriage eight children were born: La’Verne W. Williams, (Vincent), Minister Deborah W. and Deacon Deron Cuthbertson, Angela W. Rice (Ronald), Valerie W. Jackson (Willie), Teresa W. Grier, Beaufort Walker III, Micheal Walker, Karl Walker (Sophia). Paralee was preceded in death by her husband Beaufort Walker Jr. and daughter Teresa W. Grier, brothers Robert Sharpe, Moses Sharpe, Willie Sharpe Jr. (June), two sisters Willie Mae McClean and Dorothy Harrell, 6 brother- in- laws Artice Walker, Ernest Walker, Howard Walker Odell Walker, Levi Harrell, Robert McClean and sister-in-law Helene Sharpe. She leaves to cherish her memories, 14 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 10 great- great grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Tina S. Mack, Virginia Beach, VA. Sister and brother-in-law Mrs. Geraldine and Mr. Rayford Clyburn of Rock Hill, SC, Mrs. Shirley Sharpe of Charlotte NC. Paralee was greatly loved and will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
