Paulette Jones

Paulette S. Taylor-Jones, 69 of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away on January 30,2019. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Marjorie Washington and Issac S. Taylor. Paulette grew up in Newport News, Virginia and attended Newsome Park Elementary and George Washington Carver High School where she graduated in 1967. Paulette moved to Hartford, Connecticut where she joined the U.S. Army Reserves inactive for 13 years and later went active and retired Oct 2006 after 33 years of both active and inactive duty.   Paulette is survived by her  mother, Marjorie Taylor of Hartford CT; her son Sterling Taylor of Charleston SC, daughters, Bernadette Taylor of Windsor CT, and Stephanie Rucker of Hartford CT;siblings, Marjorie Taylor of Newport News VA, Cynthia Johnson (Ernest) of Hartford CT, Keith Taylor (Pam) of Newport News VA, and Issac Taylor of Baltimore MD; an uncle  George Washington (Doris) of Hampton VA; twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and other family members. Paulette was predeceased by her husband Ronald Jones, her father Sgt. Issac S. Taylor; sisters, Harriet Taylor, and Barbara Washington; an uncle, Alan Washington; and an aunt, Rose Hunt.   The family would also like to thank her special friends: Roberta Jones, Sonja Seltzer, her NABVETS family and friends, and the doctors and nurses that took care of her during this time.   Services will be held at Thrift Baptist Church, 8415 Moores Chapel Road, Charlotte, NC, 28214 on Friday, February 8,2019. Wake/ viewing will be held at 10am followed by funeral services at 11am. A repast will be held afterwards.
