Paulette Northington

Obituary Paulette Yvonne Northington was born in Charlotte, NC on November 6, 1950 to the late Mary King andRaymond Pharr, Sr. She departed this earthly life on Tuesday, August 13, 2019. Paulette graduated from Charlotte Catholic High School in 1968. Furthering her education, she receiveda certificate in accounting and word processing from Louisiana Technical College in 1991. In 2002, sheearned an Associate of Arts degree from Central Piedmont Community College. Paulette served honorably in the U.S. Army in many capacities, including Instructor, Administrative Clerk,Financial Specialist, Military Intelligence and Chemical Warfare Trainer, Editor, and Non-CommissionedOfficer. She retired with an honorable discharge in 1990 after sixteen years of service. Upon retirement, Paulette’s passion for helping others and serving the community led to her volunteerservice with the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Team. She also volunteered for many years as a lunchand reading buddy with Communities in Schools as well as a court-appointed child advocate with theMecklenburg County Guardian ad Litem Program. Most recently, she worked as an afterschoolenrichment program assistant with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Paulette was known for her generosity and fun-loving spirit. She was greatly loved by her “babies” in theafterschool program, co-workers, friends, and neighbors. Paulette leaves to cherish her memory a son, Anthony Pharr, Sr. (Tanya) of Charlotte; a daughter,Angelique Chavis (Stanley) of Kannapolis; stepmother, Paula Pharr of Charlotte; sister, Angela Peterson(James) of Charlotte; two brothers, Raymond Pharr, Jr. (Darlene) and Jeff Pharr, both of Charlotte; sixgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a beloved aunt, Netta Booker (Bobby) of Charlotte; anda host of additional relatives and friends.
