Petrania (Trina) Holloway Potts, was born on February 21, 1951 to Robert Montgomery and Minnie Holloway. She entered eternal life on May 13, 2018. She was joined into holy matrimony to her beloved husband Hazel, in which they were married for 48 years.
Trina graduated from East Mecklenburg High School and immediately began working at the Federal Reserve Bank due to her high IQ, aptitude, and ability to process numbers faster than any of her peers. Trina went on to work for the Federal Reserve for 25 years. After her retirement, she began a new career living out her passion for children to start her own daycare, Mrs. Trina’s Tiny Tots where she owned and operated the daycare for an additional ten years. Trina was a long-time member of Silver Mount Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC. She was a deaconess for many years at the church.
Trina was a kind spirit, who was the epitome of a virtuous woman. She loved the Lord, her husband and any child who came into her presence. She truly was a Potts and always implemented their values into her day to day life. 1. Love God, 2. Place family first, 3. Always forgive, 4. Feed everyone.
Trina is preceded in her passing by her sister, Josephine Hammonds. Her spirit is carried on by her loving husband Hazel, and her children ShaQuenna McLaughlin (James) and Alexis Potts. Her sisters, Elizabeth (Ann) Barrett and Lavonne (Bun) White. Her grandchildren Briana, Jaden, and Tevin (Bud). Her godchildren Angela (Ann) Barnett, Linda (Buffy) Jackson, Latorsha (Tosha) Barnett and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Trina will be deeply missed for her sound advice, firm hand, sense of humor, loyal friendship and her generosity to all she knew.
