Pride Patton, Jr.

...Pride Leroy Patton, Jr was born June 22, 1934, in Lancaster, SC to the late Viola Barber Patton and Pride L. Patton, Sr. He was called to eternal rest on September 17, 2023.
Pride, also affectionally known as Slack, was united in marriage to the late Zella Mae Stafford Patton. This marital union produced three children, Wayne Bernard Patton, Sr, Gerald Leroy Patton and Kenyon L. Patton.
Pride was educated in the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and graduated from the great Second Ward High School.  Upon graduating from high school, he served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany.  Shortly after leaving the armed services, he attended North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC and Biscayne Southern College, Charlotte, NC.
Pride was the owner of W.G.K. Inc., which was originally established under the name of Carolina Industrials in 1955 by the late Pride Leroy Patton, Sr. The company was rebranded in 1982 to WGK Inc.

Pride was preceded in death by his wife Zella Mae Patton, two sisters; Dorethy Patton Ingram and Geraldine Patton McClelland. He  leaves behind to cherish his memories one brother; Willie Patton, three sons; Wayne B. Patton, Sr. (Elizabeth), Gerald L. Patton (Sharon), Kenyon L. Patton, adopted daughters; Elder Sandra McCoy and Angela Scott, grandchildren; Chandra Patton, Wayne B. Patton, Jr, Tayloria Patton, Shawanna Sturghill (Franklin), Gerrel Pride-Allen Patton, Gerlea Zella-Marie Patton, 10 great grandchildren; Chandi Springs, China Springs, Maurice Springs, Chantis Springs, Dequanta Patton, Brandon Patton, Brianna Patton, Moriah Sturghill, Erin Sturghill, Jaycen Jerrel Patton-Morrel,  and a host of family and friends.

The Homegoing service will take place on Sunday September 24, 2023, at Parkwood Institutional CME Church, 802 Tom Hunter Road, Charlotte, NC. Visitation 1:00- 2:00, Service starts at 2:00.

Committal Service will take place at Logan Chapel CME Church Cemetery, 9505 Parkton Road, Charlotte, NC.
