On July 19, 1972, Quanett Denise Camp was born to the late Johnny Jones and the late
Patricia Ann Camp.
Quanett was affectionately called “Quanetta” by her family. Growing up she was a
“grandma’s girl”. The love and bond she had with her late grandmother, Mrs. Lillie Mae
Walker Harris, was unbreakable. Quanetta attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools
and was employed with Evolent Health. She loved shoes and dressing in pink or red.
Those were her favorite colors. She also enjoyed reading and each day she would read
Bible Discovery’s books. Quanetta had a love for traveling and in her younger years
she visited Ghana in Africa. In recent years, she would explore the different things in
and around the Charlotte Metro area with her devoted partner. Her beautiful smile and
sense of humor will be treasured forever.
Quanett Denise Camp departed from this world and entered into eternal life on
Saturday, June 4, 2022. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, James William
Howie Jr.
Her memory will live on through her two adoring brothers, Michael Camp of Charlotte,
NC and Keanka Jackson (Takiyah} of Ann Habor, Michigan. Her uncle, George T.
Camp. Her aunts, Mary Featherstone (Earl) and Ophelia Bernice Culbreath. A host of
nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
Last but not least, she leaves her heart with her companion and partner, Raymond
McDowell. Raymond’s love and dedication to Quanett was immeasurable and it was
seen until she took her very last breath. Her family is so grateful and appreciate him
beyond measure.
