Mr. Ray Robinson, Jr., was born on February 1, 1962, to his loving parents Ray Robinson Sr. and Helen Garrison.
Jr., as he was affectionately known, was called to eternal rest on May 24, 2021 at the age of 59 at Novant Presbyterian in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Jr. received his education at West Mecklenburg before joining the United States Marine Corps, which he served from 1979-1983 with an Honorable discharge. During his time as an Infantryman, he received numerous awards such as Expert Marksmanship, Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendations (with 2 Stars), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (with 2 Stars) and Good Conduct Medal.
Jr. had a passion for cooking and was a former Chef at Lake Hickory Country Club in Hickory, North Carolina. Jr. also drove local delivery trucks and he also worked installing flooring for newly built Hotels on the eastern seaboard.
Jr. loved all sports especially football. He was a Carolina Panther fanatic. Jr. would dominate debates with anyone with his deep voice and
brutal honesty.
With grateful hearts for his life though saddened by the loss, his memory is cherished by his loving father Ray (Shirley) Robinson, Sr. and his loving mother Helen Garrison of Charlotte; one daughter Christine Harris of Newton, NC; four siblings, Antonio (Pamela) Robinson of Virginia Beach, Yanette (Walter) Miller, Tyrone Robinson and Omar Robinson all of Charlotte; two handsome grandsons, Demetrick and Daymerius Reid of
Lincolnton, NC; two handsome nephews Antonio Robinson of Everett, Washington and Ramus Cardey Robinson II of Charlotte; five beautiful nieces, Jatoya Robinson of Charlotte, Janae Robinson of Virginia Beach, Angel Robinson, Jasmine Robinson and Amor Robinson, all of Charlotte; one beautiful great niece, Harlee Ysaguirre-Mike and a hosts of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
