Reid L. Moore

MR. REID LEE MOORE, 79 was born on October 23, 1946 in Charlotte NC to the late Emmanuel Reid Moore and Walter Ella Johnson Moore. On February 1, 2026, he departed this life at his home after an extended illness. He was the younger brother of Idelrie Bland Harper and was married to Carolyn Davis Moore, both of whom preceded him in death. From this union, one child was born, Alisa Ellen.

Reid attended Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and graduated from West Charlotte High School in 1965. He went on to attend Livingstone

College, which is where he met his future wife Carolyn of 35 years. Reid then enlisted into the US ARMY, serving a tour in Germany. Upon his return, he completed his education at the former Carolina Business School receiving an Associate’s Degree in Business. This led to several

Managerial employment positions in Charlotte which included Zayre, Purolator Courier, Federal Express and Consolidated Freight. His most recent employment was with Carolinas Medical Center, from which he retired.

Reid was a member of Greater Bethel AME Church in Charlotte since childhood, where he was a member of the Choir for many years. He was an avid car enthusiast and his 1975 Corvette Stingray was his prize

possession.

Over the years, you would often find Reid at a number of basketball games either in Charlotte or on the road. His love and talent for the game have led to many successes for his daughter, Lisa and is now continuing for his grandson, Micah.

God saw him getting weary and did what he thought was best. He came and stood beside him and said, "Come to Me and rest."

He is survived by: his daughter, Alisa Ellen Moore-Woods; grandson,

Micah Woods; nephew, Robert Bland (Michele); niece, Vickie Thomas; great-niece, Raegan Bland; special friend, Gail Toliver and a host of other relatives and friends.
