Rodney English

Rodney Keith English, at age 44, transitioned from this eternal life on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at his home. He was born January 29, 1974 in Atlantic County to Mr. Curtis English and Mrs. Gladys Doretha English.

He attended Atlantic Christian School in Ocean City, NJ and Egg Harbor Township High School in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. He then went on to further his education at Barber Scotia College in Concord, NC where he received his Bachelor Degree. He worked in the mental health field for over 20 years. He was dedicated and committed to helping his clients meet their needs.  He had a heart of gold and passion for this kind of work. It was in the mental health field where he met his true love, Jannelle. After dating for a year, he proposed and they were married a year later on August 18, 2007. He was a member of Reeder Memorial Baptist Church. In 2003, he joined Mt. Zion Lodge 26 where he served as a proud member and Treasurer of Prince Hall Masons.

Rodney was all about bringing his family together. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He was a very selfless and God fearing man who enjoyed traveling, listening to music, dancing, watching movies, playing his PlayStation and watching his favorite team, Carolina Panthers. He had a sense of humor that many loved and will always cherish a kind heart, and an undeniable love for his family.  He always loved going back home to Egg Harbor Township, NJ each year for Thanksgiving. It was his favorite holiday and he looked forward to making unforgettable memories with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mrs. Odell Tucker and Mr. Ransom Bracy and his paternal grandparents Mr. David and Jennnie English.

He leaves to cherish his memory:  his loving wife of eleven years, Mrs. Jannelle English, his parents, Mr. Curtis and Gladys Doretha English of Egg Harbor Township, NJ;  two children Devmani English and Ashlyn English; one god sister, Anetra Withers of Laurel, MD, six aunts, Mary Hardy of Landover, MD, Catheine Moody of Garysburg, NC, Esther Lee of Garysburg, NC, Inez Bracy of Deland, Fl, Rosetta Brown (Leon) of Linwood, NJ, and Carrie Donaldson (Grady) of Lakewood, NJ; two uncles, David English (Jean) of Efland, NC and James English (Gladys) of Efland, NC; mother in law, Veronica Robinson (Tenny) of Charlotte, NC and father in law, Survella Knox (Lisa) of Kannapolis, NC; grandmother in law, Willie Morrison of Charlotte, NC, Gailya Knox of Huntersville, NC and a host of inlaws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
