Miss Rovella Doreen Harris Evans was born on February 15, 1956. She departed this earthly life on Monday, January 4, 2021. She was born to the late Richard Harris, Sr., and Mildred Van Diver in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Rovella graduated from Olympic High School. Most of her life was spent taking care of children, and boy did she love her grandchildren. Rovella enjoyed knitting, and she was big on keeping a clean house. She welcomed and always kept an open door for those in need—she was a mother, a friend, and a sister to those who allowed her to be. She had a big heart and loved many. Loved she was, and will always be. Rovella was a woman who can’t be duplicated—she was the friend or family member that doesn’t come by easy. Rovella was that family member that would call to check up on you—even if you didn’t want to be bothered, she would call you anyway. Rovella loved her music, movies, and her phone. Rovella Evans was funny! She didn’t know how to stay mad at anyone. The greatest thing about her was how she loved her family and friends! The people that came to know her, loved her. The biggest thing that can be said today about Rovella is that she can rest knowing she gave it her best. She wore her titles well, and was passionately known as Doreen. She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Eric Harris, and daughter, Lakeyshea Evans; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; a host of siblings, too many to name; special and dear friend, Sister Sandra Momoh; other family and friends.
