Sandra D. Ross, 62, of Charlotte, NC gained her heavenly wings on Wednesday, August 3, 2016. She was born on April 2, 1954 in Welch, WV. She attended Gary High School and Bluefield State College and was a member of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. Sandra was an elementary school educator for 38 years and a National Board Certified teacher. She retired from the CMS school system in 2013. Sandra was a faithful member of From the Heart Church Ministries of Charlotte where she loved to hear the children’s choir sing. Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Flippen Strange, and her sister, Margaret “Peggy” Green of Anawalt, WV, as well as her nephew, Jonathan Strange of Kannapolis, NC. Left to continue her legacy are her daughters TaNisha R. Ross and Aneres S. Ross, grandchildren, TaMia (AAMU), Tyler, and Tre’ of Charlotte, NC, her mother, Rev. Lillie Williams of Bluefield, WV, siblings, Janie (Ted) Martin of Columbus, OH, Katherine Sharp of Charlotte, NC, Rev. James (Janet) Green of Winston-Salem, NC, Dorothy (Lamar) Craft of Columbus, OH and Samuel (Carrietta) Strange of Concord, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives and friends.
