Shirley Ann Glenn

Ms. Shirley Ann Martin Glenn, 57, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center-Main. Born July 16, 1956, Shirley was a native of Charlotte, NC and grew up in the Brookhill Community. She graduated from Olympic High School in 1974 and was currently pursuing an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Development at CPCC. She has worked in Early Childhood Development for the past 19 years and has been a Pre-K 4 teacher at Dixon Academy for the past nine years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She is survived by her daughter Tamica Martin-Dawkins; Sons: RaShawn Martin, Sr. and DeMario Martin; Grandchildren: Taylor Dawkins, RaShawn Martin, Jr., and Lance Heath; Sister: Linda Martin; Brother: Larry Martin; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Elizabeth Murchison. Her home going service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at 1:00pm with visitation beginning 12:00pm at Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 1243 West Blvd, Charlotte, NC.
