Stanley was born on June 1, 1948 to the late Mr. Jesse and Ms. Mattie Pearson in Camden, NJ. Stanley was the last born of twelve children.
Stanley was an adventurous boy. In his later years, he would remember how he upset his parents with some of his escapades - such as the time that he watched Superman on television and tried to figure out how to get on the roof of the family’s home so that he could also fly. His older brother Jesse described him as smart and talented, with a gift for carpentry, mechanics and home repair. He also enjoyed singing - a talent shared by his daughter Tracey.
Stanley was drafted into the US Army after high school and served a tour of duty in Vietnam. He worked in the construction trades and owned his own business for a time. He fathered seven children, six of whom survive him. He enjoyed making furniture, hosting barbecues, and putting his home improvement skills to use around the house.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Jessie and Mattie Pearson, and one daughter Daisheena Pearson.
Stanley’s memory will be cherished by his wife Rhonda, sons Likell and Jamar, daughters Tracey Smith (Richard), Robin Pearson, Robbie Black, Sherese Walden (Robert), Samoné Pearson, and Shaleia Slocum, a brother, George, brother-in-law Edward Easter, 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
