Stephen Jakarta Hayes (Wee-Wee) was born to Annie Hayes and Stephen Williams on September 18, 1973, in Charlotte, North Carolina. He departed this earthly life on April 15, 2024 at Presbyterian Hospital surrounded by family.
He attended South Mecklenburg High School. Steven loved cooking; his passion was to be a chef. He loved his Philadelphia Eagles through the good and bad. Everyone that he came in contact loved Steven, a guy with a heart of gold and loved everybody.
Stephen was preceded in death by his grandparents; Robert “Jack” and Maggie Hayes and Nathan and Thelma H. Williams.
He is survived by his parents, Annie Hayes and Stephen Williams; his wife, Shanna Dade-Hayes of Charlotte, NC; god-mother, Miss Lucille McBrayer and god-father, John Willie Smith, both of Charlotte, NC; ten children; Veronica (Dantri) of Monroe,NC, Mahogany of Asheville, NC, SyDeysa, Ariel, Joshua, and Kyler of Charlotte, NC, Jannon and Landon of Atlanta, Ga, DeYvon of Orangeburg, SC, and Janiya of Greensboro, NC; 6 grandchildren; 2 brothers Michael and Jonathan, both of Charlotte, NC; 1 god-sister, Naaja (Benjamin) of Charlotte, NC, 3 uncles; Rev. Dr. Lawrence Williams, Furman L. Williams (Gloria), and Richard Hayes, all of Charlotte, NC; 5 aunts; Dr. Deberrah Williams and Sheila Williams-Cummings, both of Charlotte, NC, Maelene Simmons of Richmond, Va, Alma Jean Bowman and Gloria Denise Hayes, both of Asheville, NC;1 god-niece, MiLeia of Charlotte, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. Revelation 21:4
