Steven Hall

Steven Hall was born on August 22, 1962, in Newark, New Jersey, the second of two beloved children of Dorothy Douglas Hall and Billie Gene Hall. On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, Steven Hall departed this life to his eternal home after a valiant fight with cancer.

Steven was a larger-than-life quiet storm and a shining light of positivity to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion, and an unwavering faith in God. While his passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends, he will be remembered for the way he made us feel loved and cared for.

Steven accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age and faithfully served throughout his life.

Aside from his family, Steven loved three things: music, fishing, and truck driving. He loved to sing praises to God and served many years as a musician, deacon at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, and minister of music at Bal Perazim Christian Center in Kannapolis, North Carolina. He was an avid fisherman and loved to cook whatever he caught. He was also a dedicated and well-loved driver at R+L Carriers for nearly 28 years, where he recently retired.

Steven met his wife, Yvette, in 2012, and they quickly realized that they were meant for each other. They married in 2014 and blended their families. They celebrated 10 years of marriage in September of 2024.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billie Gene, his daughter, Yasmine, grandmothers, Lillian Lipscomb Douglas and Majestic Jamison; and grandfather, Eldrater Douglas, Sr. He is survived by his wife of ten years, Yvette Irene Hall, with whom he had a blended family that includes sons Harrison Hunter, Russell Hunter, Jemel Hall, and Steven Blunt, mother Dorothy Hall, and sister Melody Hall, grandchildren Samyiah Blunt, Harmony Blunt, Aaliyah Blunt, Steven Blunt, Jr., uncle and aunt Fred & Ruth Strickland, and a host of cousins, and friends.
