Tamara Mitchell Mcmurray

Tamara Devona Mcmurray was born January 4, 1975 in Charlotte, North Carolina to Mrs. Georgia Mitchell and the late Holly Mitchell, her father. An angel of the Lord guided her spirit to the presence of God on May 11, 2021.

She is preceded in death by her father, the late Holly Mitchell and her brother, Timothy Mitchell.

Tamara loved school and graduated from Myers Park High School where she was involved in many school activities. After graduating from high school, she continued her education and completed her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and her Master’s Degree in Communication from the University of Phoenix.

She was truly committed and dedicated to her job at Pelton & Crane where she worked for over 20 years as an organization buyer and vital team member of the company. Tamara dearly loved her family and would go the extra mile to make sure they had what they needed. She liked being dressy and enjoyed sports, family gatherings, traveling and going on vacations. She had a spirit of giving like nobody and would give you her last to make sure you were okay.

The week of her passing when she heard of the gas shortage, she immediately contacted all of her family members to make sure they got gas because a gas shortage was coming. She was a true matriarch to the entire family and her presence will leave a deep void that is irreplaceable.

Tamara is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Mcmurray; three children, Jaquez, Jada and Jordan; three step-children, Toya, Courtney and Jeff, Jr.; her mother, Mrs. Georgia Mitchell; four brothers, Holly Mitchell, Timothy Mitchell, Howard (Maltrene) Mitchell and Jeffrey Mitchell; two sisters, Sandra Mitchell and Latonya (Andre) Evans, all of whom are from North Carolina; five grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Her spirit drew so many to love her and this could have been attributed to her award-winning personality. Her presence will truly be missed but never forgotten.
