Terrance Christopher Benefield

Mr. Terrance Christopher Benefield, age 47 of Flint, Michigan, entered eternal rest peacefully at CaroMont Regional Medical Center-Main on Saturday, January 20, 2024. Terrance was born on October 02, 1976, to Natalie Benefield Green and to the late Renford Benefield in Flint, Michigan. He graduated from Garinger Senior High School in 1995 and went directly to serve in the Army Reserve receiving several honorable recognitions. He also attended Central Piedmont Community College where he received his Electrical Engineering Technology degree. He was a traveling electrician throughout the United States. He was employed with the City of Charlotte for 12 years. During his employment with the City of Charlotte he received over 16 certifications ranging from safety, leadership, and project management. He began his employment with Norfolk Southern Railroad in 2023 working as an Operations Supervisor OST.

When Terrance wasn’t working, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He thoroughly enjoyed reading, watching documentaries, and listening to old school R&B. He was a mentor, volunteer basketball and football coach, role model, and positive motivator to everyone he encountered. His spiritual connection with God was undeniable and he sent daily scriptures to his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Renford Benefield, paternal grandparents: George and Ella Pearl Benefield, maternal grandparents: Herman and Zannie Mae Allen and uncle: Adrian Allen.

Terrance’s life will continue to be cherished by his family. He is survived by his loving wife Takisha Benefield, daughters; Kanisha Johnson and Jasmine (Travis) Gaither; mother Natalie Benefield Green, Five sisters; Angelinia Benefield, La’Gia Benefield, Corrissa Benefield, Ranetta Green, and Danetta Green, Four aunts; Juliana Cobb, Anjeanette Benefield, Glorietta (Carlton) Flakes and Bellandra (Michael) Foster, six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins
