Terrence Bamberg

To everything there is a season a time to be born and a time to die… Terrence Edward Terrell Bamberg was born in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 13, 1969to Ethel Bamberg and James Williams who took flight from this life three days before his birthdue to a motor vehicle accident. He was adopted by Reginald Eugene Revis in later years.He was baptized into the Christian faith at age 5 at the Hopewell Baptist Church, Newark, NewJersey and became active in congregational life as a junior usher, Children’s choir and Men’sChorus. As a youth he became a junior deacon and relished the visitation ministry. He wasactive on the missionary board and enjoyed serving meals and preparing holiday food boxes forcommunity residents and the Senior Citizens’ Housing Complex. He was active in the StandAgainst Hunger Project preparing non-perishable food bags and the Clothes Closet ministry.Feeling a calling to further serve in community outreach he became a youth volunteer RescueSquad member and continued becoming an EMT for both the Hackettstown Rescue and Firesquads. His desires to share his knowledge with others enabled him to become a First Aid andCPR instructor. He believed that he could become the salt of the earth and light set upon the hill(Matt. 5:13-16) through service to others and sharing the Gospel wherever he went. This beliefempowered him to serve in the Brotherhood Men’s Ministry at his beloved Friendship and tofound and become president of the Christian Men’s Alliance (CMA) further serving theSalvation Army Women’s and Children’s Shelter with a monthly dinner meal prepared by themen of CMA. CMA was a continued presence in the community through ramp building forseniors and the disabled, yearly Men’s Retreat, health fairs and most recent completed project theAfrican American Men’s Wellness 5k Run/Walk set for November 2, 2019.He was educated in the Newark, Summit and Hackettstown school systems. He studied atVincennes University, Vincennes, Indiana (Respiratory Therapy), Warren County CommunityCollege (Psychology) and Interdenominational Theological Center Charlotte satellite campus(Christian Ministry). He was a staunch believer that one must follow to prepare to lead andstudy to do the work of the Savior.Terrence was energized by facing challenges and driven to succeed and this served him well inhis professional employments as District Manager of Sprint Mobile Telecommunication, Englishsubstitute teacher at Charlotte’s Independence High School and Security personnel at Cool WoodJr. High.His health presented him with many challenges but he held fast to his faith believing that theGod he served would be with him through it all. In the early hours of Wednesday, August 14,2019 he went to rest from his labors at home after a sudden onset of sickness.He is preceded in death by fathers James Edward Williams, Reginald Eugene Revis, father-in-law, Guy Bruce Henderson, Sr., great, great aunts Ethel McCullough Watson and EdithMcCullough Robinson, great, great grandfather Robinson Caruso McCullough, grandfatherWilliam Henry Bamberg, Sr., grandmother Ella Mae Bamberg, great aunt Minnie Felder andPansy Wilson, cousins John L. and Hattie Mae Felder, Ida Booker, Le Roi Wilson, Ronna Lee and Paulette Wilson, uncles Robert Reid, William Henry Bamberg, Jr. and Donald RoyBamberg, aunts Mary Reid Johnson and Edith Bamberg-AdamsHe leaves to cherish his life and legacy; his mother, Rev. Dr. Ethel Bamberg-Revis (Salisbury,NC), his wife of 24 years, Ginger Lavern Bamberg, son Brandon Alexander Bamberg (DistrictHeights, MD), daughters Brianna Alexis and Brooke Ayanna Bamberg, mother-in-law MarianMallero (Tom), Toms River, NJ; cousins Scott Bamberg (Newark, NJ), Gerald Adams, Jr.(Newark, NJ), Kendra, Kiarah, and Kareem Adams (Salisbury), Latonya and Jeffrey Johnson(Newark, NJ, a host of friends and church families – Friendship Miss. Bapt.
