Thomas Ratliff

Mr. Thomas Ratliff, son of the late Ira Lee Ratliff and Cleo Joines Ratliff, was born in Chesterfield South Carolina on December 19, 1935. After an extended period at University Place Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Charlotte North Carolina, he departed this life on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Atrium University Hospital in Charlotte North Carolina.

He was united in Holy Matrimony to Roxie Sinclair Ratliff of Chesterfield South Carolina on August 2, 1958. They started their home together in Charlotte North Carolina and later moved to Newark New Jersey to start their family. They returned to Charlotte in 1974, where he resided until his death.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife Roxie Ratliff, three daughters, Beverly (John) Irby of Winston-Salem North Carolina, Wanda Ratliff - Wells, Charlotte North Carolina, Persena (Troy) Ward of Charlotte North Carolina, one daughter-in-law, Anne Temple Ratliff of Charlotte North Carolina, two grandsons, Troy Thomas and Davon Ward, three granddaughters, Rasheena Ratliff and Erica  Zarrieff of Charlotte North Carolina and Zoie Irby of Winston-Salem North Carolina. Five sisters, Betty Ratliff Baldwin of Charlotte North Carolina, Margaret (James Jr.) Bennett of Cheraw South Carolina, Marie (Tony) Chambers of Chesterfield South Carolina, Diane Ratliff Skeeter of Charlotte North Carolina, and Patricia Ratliff Fair of Ruby South Carolina. Four brothers, Ira Dan (Brenda) Ratliff of Charlotte North Carolina, Vernon (Valeria) Ratliff of Raleigh North Carolina, R D (Priscilla) Ratliff of Chesterfield South Carolina and Benson Ratliff of Indian Trail North Carolina. One Aunt, Audrey Griffin of Chesterfield South Carolina, 2 great-grandsons, Dayveion Johnson and Rahman Zarrieff, 3 great-granddaughters Dalaysia and Zandaya Johnson and Farasa Zarrieff.  A host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Eugene Ratliff, two brothers, Perry and J F Ratliff and one sister Lula Baker. Two granddaughters, Alena and Elona Irby.
