Thomas David Williams, Jr.
July 18, 1943 — April 9, 2022
Mr. Thomas David Williams, Jr. of Shelby, NC transitioned peacefully Saturday, April 9th, 2022 at Wendover Hospice in Cleveland County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Henry Thomas Williams & Marie Watson, his sister Margie Clowney Hollis, and his brother Curtis Micheal Bolder.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Martha Smarr Williams, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
Thomas was a pillar of the community, serving as a mentor, coach, deacon and Sunday school teacher at Light Oak Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from Hoechst Celanese with 30 plus years of service. After retiring, he continued to be a mentor and Sunday school teacher. He also had a passion for auto mobiles, which he was a member of the Old School New School Auto Club.
