Tripplee Moore Anthony
On Friday, July 10, 2015, our beloved Dad, "Pop-Pop", Brother, and Friend, Tripplee Moore Anthony, transitioned to his heavenly home as the result of a massive heart attack. Trip was born January 12, 1953 in Sumter, South Carolina, to Thomasena Moore Anthony and Joseph “Crybaby” Welch. He moved to Charlotte at the age of 12 and grew up in Earle Village and “Park Road”. He graduated from Myers Park High School with the class of 1972 after attending Harding and Second Ward.
Even at an early age Trip became a business entrepreneur as a paper boy and quickly developed his own team of delivery boys. It was not unusual for him to run into people today who still affectionately referred to him as “Paper Boy”. Upon graduation from high school, he held various positions including many years with Consolidated Engravers. In the mid-80s he began a part-time lawn service and in 1996 he left Consolidated to become full-time owner and operator of Lawn Plus Service, later renamed LPS Inc.
Trip leaves to mourn his daughters, Colinda K. Howard, Erika P. Anthony, and Treva L. Anthony; three much-loved grandchildren who were the apples of his eye Nangwayan Anthony, LaGary and Malayah Rollins; brothers James, Kenny, Jimmy, Will (Patrice), and Leroy Anthony, Joe and Wayne Gomillion, Tony Smith; sisters Della Mae Little (Thomas); DeLores (Lois) and Brenda Anthony, Barbara Jean Anthony Sonko, Wanda Welch, Linda Ponder, Terry Green (Julius), Brenda Dunlap (David), Sandra (Dan), Sophia and Alice Gomillion, and Latonia Singleton (Julian); sister-in-law Irene Anthony; his companion Pam Rhynes; Colinda’s mother, Wialillian Howard, plus a whole host of extended and dear family and friends. He was predeceased in death by his parents, his step-father, his infant daughter Patricia, and his former wife, Edna A. Anthony.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 1pm at Saint Paul Baptist Church, 1401 North Allen Street, Charlotte. Viewing will begin at 11am. Interment will be in Charlotte Memorial Gardens, 7632 Hood Road. Alexander Funeral Home, 1424 Statesville Avenue, Charlotte, is handling arrangements.
Rest in forever peace, Trip, and know you will be deeply missed by all of us.
