Twana A. Hall

On Friday, July 17, 2026, Twana Aleia Hall peacefully entered eternal rest. Born on April 10, 1964, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Jerry and Curley Hall, Twana lived a life marked by unwavering faith, deep love for her family, joyful service, contagious laughter, and a heart full of gratitude.

The seventh of eight children, Twana was raised in a close-knit family where faith, love, and caring for one another were simply a way of life. She graduated from Olympic High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1982. She later attended North Carolina Central University, an experience she remained proud of throughout her life.

A gifted vocalist from an early age, Twana was sought after by gospel artists to sing with their choirs and blessed countless people through her gift of song. As a faithful member of Silver Mount Baptist Church, she was especially known for leading the gospel song “Be Grateful”.

Twana devoted much of her career with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, serving in the cafeteria, classroom, and After School Enrichment Program at Nations Ford Elementary School. Children loved being around her because they knew they would have fun, be cared for, and be safe.

Known to most simply as Twana, she was affectionately called Auntie Twana, T-Dub, and Dubbie by the nieces and nephews who adored her. Larger than life, she filled every room with laughter, unforgettable stories, expressive reactions, and pure joy. If you knew Twana, you knew April wasn’t just another month it was her month. April 10th was never enough. She celebrated the entire month!

As a daughter, sister, and aunt, Twana loved without limits. She cared for her mother with unwavering devotion and faithfully stood beside her siblings and every extension of her family. Though she had no children of her own, her heart was never short on love. She especially cherished her beloved dog, Poppi, and the many companions she loved throughout the years. She helped raise generations of nieces and nephews, loving them as her own. She was their fiercest protector, favorite prankster, and one of their greatest sources of laughter. More than anything, Twana had a remarkable way of making people feel seen, loved, and safe.

Intelligent, creative, and determined, Twana loved fashion, creating memorable meals, researching and preserving her family’s history alongside her mother, and encouraging others to live with gratitude. She truly lived a life well lived.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Sarah Lee Gaston; father, Jerry Hall; and brother, Michael Hall.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her devoted mother, Curley Hall; her treasured siblings Caudahy Hall, Kelyvn Hall, Rickey Hall, Christa Hall, Jeffrey Hall, Katanja Hall, and Jamie Bennett; her dear God sisters, Maxine Sanders and Rosalind Easterling; her beloved dog, Poppi; thirty four adored nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, whom she loved and helped raise as her own; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, cherished friends, and all whose lives were forever blessed by knowing and loving her.
