Mr. Ulysses Townsend departed this side of glory on April 30, 2018. Born on February 2, 1934, Ulysses was the son of the late Scott Budd Townsend and Estell Brown.

Born in Marlboro, SC Mr. Townsend grew to be a hard worker landing him in Charlotte, NC. Mr. Townsend was a truck driver at C.W. Kirkland. Mr. Ulysses Townsend was not only a hard worker but he was a loving and kind hearted person; always there for his children, grandchildren and anyone in need.

Football was one of his favorite sports to watch especially when the "Panthers" played.

Mr. Ulysses was preceded in death by sons: Willie L. Townsend and Arthur Lee Townsend.

Mr. Townsend leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Gracie Townsend, daughters: Michelle Townsend, Beverly Stevenson (Donald Stevenson), Faye Moseley, Michelle townsend, sons: Antiono Hamer (LaTonya), Anthony Hamer , Ulysses Townsend Jr. (Debbie Townsend) granddaughter Markisha Johnson, Tamra Johnson, Tasha Copper (Zeke), Linda Broadnax, Jocoa Stringfellow grandson: Arthur Lee Townsend, Laquann Hamer, Jody Stringfellow.
