Wheeler Pete Jackson Jr., affectionately known to family and friends as “June,” peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. He was a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, born on December 8, 1929, and the only child of the late Wheeler Pete Jackson Sr. and Annie Mae Jackson.
He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a 76 Yankee and later retired as a military veteran. He was also employed by Concrete Supply as a tanker driver, where he later retired. He was a faithful member of Eastway Church of God.
June enjoyed reading his Bible, listening to gospel music, doing crossword puzzles, and cooking. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Jackson of Washington, D.C.
He is survived by his lifelong partner, Thelma Carter; four children, Sharon Jackson (Elliott) of Charlotte, NC; Terry Spencer (Dianna) of Winston-Salem, NC; Deltra Holley of Winston-Salem, NC; and Calvin Martin (Tomeka) of Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
June will be deeply missed, but his spirit, wisdom, and love will forever remain with his family and friends. We thank God for the gift of his life and the memories we will cherish always.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Linda Pegues and the staff of Lakeside Health and Rehab for their compassionate care and support during his final days.
