William Burbridge, Jr.

In Memory of a loving husband and father

William “Bill” Leslie Burbridge, Jr was born in New York, New York on January 6, 1931. He was the son of the late William Leslie, Sr., and Victoria Raphael. Bill and family resided in Charlotte, NC and was called to rest on April 29, 2022. Bill enlisted in the Marines and served in the Korean War from 1952-1953 and received the National Defense Service Medal. A union that spanned 63 years, Bill met Carol, the love of his life, in 1941 when they were in grade school. They married in 1958 in New York City. They soon relocated to Washington,DC where they had four children Kofi, Oteil, Leilani, Adero, and Deda from a previous marriage. He is predeceased by his son Kofi Burbridge, father William L.Burbridge, Sr. and mother Victoria Raphael Burbridge. His life and memories will be cherished by his wife Carol and four children Deartra “Deda” Burbridge of Brooklyn, NY, Oteil Burbridge (Jess) of Boca Raton,FL, Leilani Bush (Wayne) and Adero Rice (Phillip) of Charlotte, NC. Siblings, Richard Burbridge of Queens, NY and Ruthie Burbridge of San Antonio,TX. Grandchildren, Tumara Johnson, Malachi Bush, Kamau, Khalil, Nigel, and Kavi Burbridge and great-grandchild Daniel McGann.
