Barbara and the late William Foster Green, Sr. welcomed William Jr. into the world on December 9, 1964 in Charlotte, NC. He attended Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and graduated from West Charlotte Senior High School in 1983. Soon after graduating, William served his country in the United States Army from 1984 until he was honorably discharged in 1987. After having spent many years driving for  J. L. Rothrock, Inc. William re-envisioned plans for his life and pursued his passion and special love for cooking.  After completing the Culinary Arts Program at The Art Institute of Charlotte, he worked as a sous chef at Maggiano's, HopeWay Rehabilitation Hospital, and served his family and friends with great love where he was affectionately known as Chef Will. William was a proud member at Reeder Memorial Baptist Church where he served by singing on the choir.

Those who knew William will attest that he persevered beyond his health challenges, defied many odds, and remained driven to make the most of his life. He openly professed his love to his family and friends and was thankful to those who helped him along his journey. He will forever be loved, his quick wit and jokes will forever be missed, his presence cannot be replaced, and his loving heart left an impression on all who knew him.

William was preceded in death by his father, William Green, Sr. and is survived by his loving mother Barbara Jean Green, his brothers Chris Boyd of Charlotte, NC and Derrick Green of Denver, CO, and Melvin Stewart of South Carolina. His sisters Carolyn Powers (Herbert Jr.), Evelyn Hollis (Samuel), Willie Jean Watson (Randy), Alice Green, Tammy Green and Love Green, all of Charlotte, NC. His cherished living aunts Emma Ruth Hill of Charlotte, NC and Brenda Paige Clinckscales of Winston-Salem, NC. His adopted sons Kerrion Moore of Gastonia, NC and Kurron Moore of Marion, OH as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including some of his closest friends; Anthony Boyce, Kendrick Walker, Kevin Long, Dennis Threat and the late Tony Watson.
